Zocks is a serious product and one of the few in this market that thinks carefully about client privacy, which is something we respect. If you are weighing it against OnBord, you are probably looking at two things it does well: automatic form completion and the fact that it does not record client conversations.
Here is where the two products genuinely differ, and where each one earns its place.
A shared view on client data
Most software in this category treats client information as something to be captured and stored. Zocks takes a different line. Conversations are processed in real time for notes rather than kept as recordings, and the firm keeps ownership of its data. That is a considered position and advisors notice it.
We arrived at a similar conclusion from the other direction. Your client’s sensitive information never touches the OnBord database. It moves from the client to your systems, which means one fewer place it sits and one fewer thing to explain when a client asks where their details are held.
If data minimisation matters to your firm, both products will pass that test. The difference is what each one is actually for.

Filling in a form and collecting the answers are not the same job
Zocks fills forms from what it hears. That is impressive, and for the parts of a client profile that come up naturally in conversation it saves real time.
The limitation is structural rather than a fault in the product. Plenty of onboarding data is never spoken in a meeting. Account and routing numbers, beneficiary details, a spouse’s date of birth, employer information, identification documents. No amount of listening produces those. They have to come from the client.
That is the job we built OnBord to do. The advisor opens the account, pre populates what the firm already knows, and OnBord texts the client. The client completes the rest in a few minutes on their phone, reminders go out automatically, and the data arrives confirmed by the person it belongs to rather than inferred on their behalf.
There is a compliance benefit to that as well. When a client has entered and reviewed their own information, you are not relying on a transcript as the record of what they told you.
What each one costs
Zocks publishes tiered per user pricing, with form automation appearing on the middle tier. That is a reasonable price for a broad assistant that also handles notes, emails and CRM updates.
OnBord starts at $30 per user per month plus $7 for each household you create, so a firm onboarding four new clients in a month adds $28 to its bill. The cost tracks the new business you write rather than the number of seats you hold, which suits smaller firms with uneven months.
Which one is right for your firm
Choose Zocks if your admin burden lives in meetings. Notes, follow ups, CRM hygiene and a first pass at forms, all handled without recording your clients.
Choose OnBord if the burden is the back and forth with the client. If accounts sit unfunded while somebody chases missing details, that is precisely the gap we close, and we close it without changing how you run your meetings.
