Zeplyn was bought by firms trying to get more out of the time between a first meeting and a funded account. They go about it in almost opposite ways, and a firm that understands the difference will make a much better buying decision.
Zeplyn works on the quality of the conversation. We work on everything that has to happen once the conversation is over.
Coaching the conversation, or completing the account
Zeplyn began as an AI meeting assistant and has grown into something broader. It takes notes, then scores those conversations against the firm’s rubric, surfaces coaching feedback tied to specific moments, builds client personality profiles, and lets managers ask questions across the firm’s performance. Advisors can even rehearse difficult conversations with an AI playing the client.
For a firm with several advisors and a principal who cares about consistency, that is a strong offer. Reviewing meetings by hand does not scale, and Zeplyn removes that ceiling.
OnBord does none of that, on purpose. We handle the operational step that follows. The advisor opens the account, pre populates what the firm already knows, and the client receives a text. They complete their information on their phone, reminders go out automatically, and the compliance documents are generated and delivered as part of the same flow.

The gap Zeplyn is not designed to close
A well run meeting still ends with a list of things you need from the client. Identification, account numbers, beneficiary details, employer information, a spouse’s date of birth. None of that is solved by a better transcript or a higher meeting score.
In most firms that list turns into an email, and the email turns into a follow up, and the account sits unfunded for a fortnight while everyone waits. The relationship is fine. The paperwork is the problem.
Text messages get read, and a form built for a phone gets finished. That is the whole idea behind OnBord, and it is why the pages that matter get completed in minutes rather than weeks.
Cost and firm size
Zeplyn prices per advisor per month, and the value of that pricing depends on having advisors to coach. A principal overseeing eight advisors gets a great deal from firm wide scoring and reporting. A solo advisor is paying for oversight of one person.
OnBord starts at $30 per user per month plus $7 for each household you create, so four new clients in a month adds $28 to the bill. The cost follows the new business you write rather than the size of your team, which is why it tends to suit smaller and growing firms.
Which one is right for your firm
Choose Zeplyn if you manage advisors and want consistent, measurable client conversations across the team. It does a job that no onboarding tool can do.
Choose OnBord if the meetings are already good and the delay is everything that comes after them. If you want a new client onboarded before they have left your office, that is what we built.
